
James is a singing teacher and regularly performs across the UK and Europe. He has been featured on Loose Women (ITV), Vanessa Feltz show (TalkTV) and The One Show (BBC). He recently featured live on Jeremy Vineโs BBC Radio 2 show.ย His online videos have been written about in The Independent, Buzzfeed and featured in a number of podcasts. These include education sector podcast ‘Skills World’, ‘Teachers Talk Radio’, ‘The Brit Kids Show’ and ‘At Home Withโฆ’. Radio appearances include: BBC Radio 2 with Scott Mills, BBC 5 Live, BBC Radio Nottingham, BBC Radio Leicester, BBC Radio Lancashire, Absolute Radio and JackFM.
He has amassed a large social media following based around nostalgic Primary School tunes and music education. He recently was chosen as a contestant on Netflix’s first British game show ‘Cheat’. As a content creator he has partnered with a number of educational and music companies including BBC Proms, Nordoff Robbins, TikTok, Royal Albert Hall, MiXiT app, Maidwell Marketing and Wicked the Musical.
As a freelance singer he has performed around the UK and internationally with Truly Medley Deeply at a huge number of events ranging from high-end weddings to large corporate functions. He was a founder member of Gareth Malone’s Voices and performed at the Royal Variety Show, Classic Brit Awards, multiple TV appearances and a sold-out UK tour. With his own originals group, The Harbour, he appeared live on BBC’s The One Show as well as many festivals around the UK, recording our EP at Air Studios.
Session singing work has been included featuring on adverts for Waitrose, Sky Movies, Clydesdale Bank and GoCompare, recording at many top London studios including Abbey Road and Angel studios. I have sung on recordings ranging from Sir Paul McCartney, Tom Chaplin to Katherine Jenkins. Some of the high profile artists I have provided backing vocals for include The Rolling Stones at their 50th anniversary concert and for Electric Light Orchestra’s reunion at Hammersmith Apollo.
James is in high demand as a singing, piano and Music Theory teacher for ABRSM and Trinity as well as an accompanist for performances and festivals. He teaches singing at various schools in London including Kensington Prep School, St Paul’s Junior School, St James’s School and Ibstock Place School.
Other freelance work extends to preparing singers for auditions and hosting many Peak Productions musical theatre galas. As an arranger, he worked with The Gala Ensemble on their debut album for SONY BMG which reached #1 on the Classical chart. Other composing/arrangement work includes a choral arranging for the film Kingsman: The Golden Circle, writing instrumental music for At Home with Sarah‘s meditation series, and composing the soundtrack to an award winning play ‘Dandelion Heart’. His songwriting garnered acclaim when he was named a BBC Young Songwriter of the Year and he has been writing with many up and coming artists based at PowerStudio London.
